Beauty Bible Loves... CHANEL Les Beiges discoveries
Yesterday, here, we reported on a s-l-o-w glow, in the form of a brilliant gradual tanner. But here are the products to reach for – albeit luxurious – when instead you want instant golden gorgeousness.
A few weeks ago, you may remember that we ventured to hip ‘n’ groovy East End for a CHANEL pop-up to celebrate the launch of Chance Eau Splendide. One of the treats on offer was a mini-make-up session, and CHANEL pro Anna duly worked her magic on a face that was wearily showing the evidence of getting up w-a-y too early that morning.
A couple of minutes later, though, and it was glow, glow, glow. Two products in particular played a starring role in this transformation. The first is the lightest shade to date of CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream, their cult cream-gel bronzer – which was a cult we were unable to join until now, as the shades were too deep. The newest shade, Soleil Tan Light Bronze, is PERFECT, though – tan-but-not-too-tan, a formula that melts into skin. Shades now range from fair enough for us through to Deep Intense Bronze. You can smoosh it into skin with fingers, really easily.
The other total revelation, though, was CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint. To be honest, this looks downright weird in the bottle, with little bronze beads suspended in a clear-ish liquid. Full disclosure: we were AWOL on a midwinter break when it launched, and never bothered to get our heads round it.
Slapped wrists all round! This is just genius. Using the stubby brush to whisk the product into skin bursts those little pigment bubbles so that they create a seamless, glowing finish to skin, evening it out completely. The how-to is that you squirt the formula on the back of your hand, pick it up with the brush – and swirl into skin, rather as you might a mineral foundation. There’s a gorgeous neroli scent to the product, which delivers a good dose of moisture – eight hours are promised. CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint is honestly a little bit of magic, but the bottom line is that BOTH these stellar products have become instant summer go-tos. (Note: they’re easily removed with your usual cleanser, at the end of the day.)
Naturally, being CHANEL, they don’t qualify as ‘beauty steals’. But splendide? Absolument!
