Beauty Bible Loves... The Body Shop Peppermint Invigorating Foot Cream
We invite you to walk with us down memory lane… Because some beauty classics transport us straight back to Saturday shopping trips, a hard-earned fiver (from a low-paid first job) clutched in hand. Maybe even pocket money, in your case…
The Body Shop’s Peppermint Foot Lotion absolutely fits that description: an unmistakably minty treat which made looking after your feet a pleasure, not a chore. (Actually, back then, generally the only way feet got attention was if they sprouted a corn or a verruca or a bunion. Other than that, it was a case of out of sight, out of mind…) But alongside White Musk and Banana Conditioner, Peppermint Foot Lotion became part of the brand’s much-loved landscape in the 1980s and 1990s.inews
So, the formula might have slightly changed – but that nostalgic minty footcare tradition continues with the completely fabulous The Body Shop Peppermint Invigorating Foot Cream, which we were thrilled to, er, stumble on recently. (No idea how long it’s been in the line-up, but if it’s been around a while… well, better late than never). The current formula combines cooling peppermint oil and menthol with a richly nourishing blend of glycerine, cocoa butter and shea butter to moisturise and soften – actually, a real improvement.
But for us, the enduring appeal of this product is simple: refreshing, comforting care for feet that have done a good day’s work and almost certainly notched up 10,000 steps. (Oh, and a giant dollop of nostalgia, as a gift with purchase.)
