Right now, you may have noticed that Beauty Bible's in the midst of our annual run-down of the must-have products for a summer beauty regime. During our extensive trials to identify the best summer suncare, what we were reminded of (not for the first time) was the importance of regular exfoliation, to stop a fake or real tan from becoming dingy. Fact: fake tans are drying, and the surface cells become flat-looking and almost 'dusty' quite fast.

Well, this is a great alternative to a once- or twice-a-week exfoliating blitz: a deliciously-scented product that's gentle enough to use (almost) top-to-toe every day, getting its buffing power from biodegradable wood pulp.

That doesn't make Anne Semonin Exfoliating Shower Gel sound very glamorous – but actually, it is: partly thanks to a dose of vitamin E, it leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. It's also absolute treat for the senses, with refreshing notes of jasmine and green tea.

We also like the way that the lid of this 'twists' to dispense the products, so it's not in the least fiddly. (Just don't be afraid to give the bottle a good, hard squeeze to get the green-tinged gel out, though!)
