Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

The Charlotte Tilbury counters – always an excited throng - are about to get that bit more crowded, with the launch of this ambitiously-named foundation. But it does, actually, rather live up to its name: a weightless creation offering surprisingly full coverage for some really serious skin challenges – rosacea, redness, thread veins, age spots, acne and acne scarring… Not to mention waking up tired, dull skin.

Treatment elements will act on some of those problems, over time – it’s said to minimise sebum production after nine weeks, and age spots by 75%, with ingredients like super-charged vitamin C and a mushroom extract.

To be honest, that’s not Priority Number One with a foundation, for us (we’re happy to target complexion challenges with skincare) – but coverage and finish matter, and Magic Foundation certainly delivers here, with a second-skin finish. It’s much more matte than her dewy debut foundation - but for a finish mid-way between the two, we’ve simply mixed matching shades of both.

And with 15 to choose from (something for everyone ‘from Lily Cole to Lupita Nyongo’), all that remains is to invite you to form an orderly queue, please.

PS Couldn’t resist sharing another of Charlotte’s new delights: a make-up bag with the darlingest little lipstick zipper-pull any beauty-hound could put on her wishlist.
