Chantecaille Protect the Wolves Collection

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of eye shadow is probably not wolves. But that might change when you see Chantecaille’s totally gorgeous Protect the Wolves Collection, new for Fall 2015. The refillable Eye Shade Trio in a fab mirrored palette features...

• Midnight, a deep black that can be blended into the crease or doubles as a liner.

• Evergreen, a cool smoky ‘blackened green’ for lid or lashline.

Timber Wolf, a warm soft gold-y pewter for lid, crease or to highlight under brows. You can play with the shades, creating dramatic or more demure and there’s a rose petal pink blush too, called Ella, which they suggest gives a soft moonlit glow.

Each of them has the signature Chantecaille velvety soft, ultra-blendable finish and is embossed with a wolf head to remind you that five per cent of the proceeds go to support wolves.

They may not be your average Fido but wolves and dogs evolved from a common ancestor and Sylvie Chantecaille, the eponymous founder of the brand (and one of our all-time heroines) is determined to protect them from the hunters who decimate their numbers for sport. It’s not that she wants to bring them indoors by the fire with the Labradors but to restore their vital role in maintaining the natural balance of the environment: that’s actually in north America but there are efforts now to promote wolf conservation in the UK.

So why not make like Sylvie Chantecaille this autumn and go hunting on the make-up counters?

It's may be the one time it's OK just to cry wolf….
