We have 15 lip-cherishing Light & Shade Lip Balm Duos by Balmkind to give away, each worth £24

Fascinatingly, lips – like fingerprints – are unique with no two sets of lip impressions being identical. But there is one overriding common factor: lips should be luscious. They are almost as much of a focus as your eyes for onlookers. Plus, feeling chapped dry lips is simply not comfortable. Not to mention that lipstick will never look its best on (or stick to) peeling lips.

And, of course, lips are the very stuff of romance and sensuality. One modern poet described his lover’s lips as feather-downy-soft and cushiony, which pretty well sums up kissability, we’d say.

But the tender tissue needs help. ‘Exposure to sun, wind and cold air outside plus central heating and air con indoors can make unprotected lips dry, sore and flaky,’ says Leesa Bridson, founder of multi-award winning company Balmkind. ‘They need specific help because lips cannot create protective oils to self-moisturise,’ she explains.

Now think of the TLC you lavish on your face and – if you’re like most people – the little you give your lips. ‘We believe you should look after your lips and skin equally,’ says Leesa. Thus Balmkind, the natural cruelty-free brand that Leesa founded just two years ago, which has already scooped up a row of awards including three in Beauty Bible’s most recent round of testing.

In our SPF Lip category, Balmkind Alpine Rose & Lysine Lip Balm SPF20 won the Gold and Best Natural Award. An array of applause included this comment: ‘I like the feel and it is very moisturising. It made me feel confident enough to wear a bright pink lipstick’. Another said ‘I’m out in the field all day every day at my Flower Farm and this helped me avoid chapped lips. A small product with a big punch….’ (NB SPF20 is great for daily wear but if you’re sunbathing or out on the water, aim for SPF30.)

Balmkind also won a Silver Award in our Lip Treatment category for the non-SPF version, the other half of the Duo. The key ingredients for both are organic Alpine rose, a potent anti-inflammatory, lysine, an amino acid that helps create collagen and has natural anti-viral properties (should be good for cold sores then), plus oat lipids (natural fats) to help moisturise and protect your lips. Leesa Bridson added soothing sweet-tasting licorice, pomegranate sterols to increase moisture levels and antioxidant vitamin E for a super-nourishing formula.

B lip products are free of mineral oils and petroleum products, as well as parabens, and  suitable for vegetarians - though not vegans as there’s a teeny bit of beeswax.

One last point: we really like the bright packaging (attractive and so much easier to find in your make up bag) and the angled tip dispenser, which avoids having to dip your finger in a sticky pot.

Many thanks to Leesa Bridson at Balmkind for sharing this lovely prize with Beauty Bible. For a chance of winning, simply fill in form below (and meanwhile, please don't lick your lips – it just makes them drier).

Prize draw closes at 7 a.m. on Wednesday 24th April 2019

NB Winners are chosen via a random number generator and there is no cash alternative to this prize.
