We often get asked for recommendations for cruelty-free brushes – and we invariably point readers in the direction of EcoTools, whose brilliant brushes mimic the performance of natural hair brushes, but are actually man-made. They've got every need covered now, along with quite a few kits – but we're especially keen to highlight a trio of limited edition kits launched as part of their #MyTrueBeauty campaign.

There are three specific kits with the extra #MyTrueBeauty 'feel-good factor' that we encourage you to check out.

First is Glow for It: a Pointed Concealer brush, Angled Powder brush, Highlighting Fan brush, Eye Shading brush and Detailed Lip Brush. There's a Compact mirror in this pink-themed kit, too, for touch-ups on-the-go.

Prepped for Change (with its green theme) is all about skin, featuring a Facial Scrubber, Prep & Prime brush (for applying moisturiser, primer and SPF), Skin Perfecting brush (for foundation), Detail Concealer and Correcting Concealer brushes, plus a Setting Kabuki to whisk translucent powder across the face, setting your make-up.

Blue-toned Eye Am Courageous, as the name suggests, features everything you need for a smooth, perfectly-blended eye look. You'll receive an Angled Tweezer, Micro Blending Brush, Defined Crease brush, Detailer brush (for precise application of bold accent colours), Flat Liner (the best type of eyeliner brush, we find) and Lash & Brow Groomer. Plus the bonus of a compact mirror.

The kits are raising funds for Glamour's The Girl Project, which offers the support that young women in developing countries need to finish their education. School supplies, mentorship, education itself – and scholarships to cover further costs – will all be generously funded by a $100,000 donation to mark the launch of these sets, providing the secondary education that truly empowers women around the globe. It's thought that 50 million young women aren't currently in school who'd benefit from education. Gulp.

We think these EcoTools sets would make great, meaningful 'starter' kits for young women just setting out on their make-up journey – though they're frankly useful at any age.

So let's hear it for beauty – with a heart.
