Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF30 Hydrating Colour Corrector

BBs were last year's beauty buzz.  This year, it's all about CCs - short for colour correctors. What they're both about is evening out the skintone.  BBs tend to have a bit of colour and glimmer.  (Some products previously marketed as tinted moisturisers have been relaunched as BBs.)  But in the case of this CC cream, it's more about colour-corrective technology which - almost magically - makes skin look instantly healthier.

Yellow-toned skins acquire a sort of peachy glow.  Dull skins (for which read:  ours, after this winter) look that bit more radiant.  Redness becomes much, much less visible.  Clinique has harnessed special new colour-correcting optics for this task - and having seen and touched these at the launch, we've seen with our own eyes how they bend the light and perfect skin.

All that, in a truly fab moisturiser which - even if it didn't offer the colour-corrective benefits above - would be worth seeking out in its own right (not least because of the excellent SPF30 and UVA protection). It makes skin feel really comfortable, with its blend of water-binding trehalose and sorbitol, plus aloe leaf water and (yay) hyaluronic acid.

Trust us:  there are going to be even more categories to come, after BB, CC, DD - and rumours are that there are even EE creams in the pipeline.  (Heck, it's getting more complicated to buy a skin cream than a bra.)

Gimmicky?  Maybe.  But some - like this - are truly worth an A*.
