Clarins Eau Dynamisante Shower Mousse
Jo will spend today in a darkened room with a box of Kleenex - for a very good reason: it's the judging for the YOU/Clarins Dynamisante Woman of the Year Awards, which she's been involved with since the very beginning. At stake is a generous £30,000 prize, for a charity started by a woman which works with under-18s - either at home in the UK, or in the developing world. There've been some incredible winners in previous years, including Camila Batmanghelidjh, and Lucy Buck, of the Childs-i Foundation. You'll be able to read about the recipient of this year's award in a June issue of YOU Magazine; the impressive candidates' tales are rarely less-than-moving, and often have Jo and fellow judges in floods.
But meanwhile? In the run-up, we were reminded yet again of how much we love this zesty, reviving treatment fragrance from Clarins - and pleased to discover it in a seriously enjoyable incarnation, as a shower mousse (which only just made it onto our beauty radar). Pump it, and out comes a froth of wonderful skin-softening foam, which includes the natural cleansing botanical soapwort, and delivers a veil of the spirit-lifting fragrance ingredients: lemon, orange, coriander, caraway, rosemary, thyme and patchouli.
And how nice to think that through someone, somewhere, buying a bottle of Clarins's so-reviving scent somewhere in the world, one of those deserving, 'dynamisante' women is going to get a hefty cheque for her cause.
