Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad
We meet women all the time who are still baffled about applying eyeshadow. It's probably the biggest make-up challenge of all. Nobody's born with the know-how. But this palette from Avon is as goof-proof as any we've found. (So long as you go for one of the two fantastic neutral palettes: Stone, or Mocha Latte.)
The pressed powder shades themselves are usefully embossed with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, so you know exactly which order to apply them in. (Palest for the brow-bone and/or as an all-over eye base, medium for the socket, slightly highlighted for the centre of the eyelid to make the eyes 'pop', and the deepest, darkest shade for going as smoky as you like, around the lashes.)
What's more, the pigments are great - and glide on silky-soft, echoing eyeshadow palettes several times as expensive. (We'd always use brushes rather than fingers, though.)
But well done, Avon: our eyes have been opened to your make-up again, thanks to these excellent and utterly foolproof shadows.
