Unlike many self-tanners, this leaves skin dewily moisturised, with glow-boosting tomato and white lily extracts, plus copper-pearl to optically correct wrinkles. Our testers had the Golden shade (there’s a Bronze option). The usual gorgeously sexy Chanel packaging, too - although our testers were only asked to comment on packaging performance, not its chic factor!

Described as their first ‘anti-ageing self-tanner for the face’, the fake-it ingredient in this is combined with SPF15 (to shield against future damage) and an ingredient called algisium C, to boost collagen production. It comes in two colours (always useful in a self-tanner); our testers trialled Golden, but there’s a Bronze option, too.
Comments: ‘Lovely product to use with top pamper factor! Smelt heavenly at the time, then nothing the next day; instant tint which is really helpful for a self tan virgin like me; gave a realistic colour’ • ‘I’m very pale, the kind of person whose legs verge on blue in the summer! And this is as natural a colour as I’ve ever found; before I’ve felt Tangoed rather than tanned’ • ‘I felt quite healthy and bouncy after using this; if you could bottle holiday zing it would probably be in this product’.

Testers really liked the natural radiant colour delivered by this cream (it’s good for bodies, too): it contains an organically-certified self-tanning ingredient derived from sugar beet, organic aloe and shea butter for soft, nourished skin as well as an even colour. Offering a golden brown finish that develops in three hours, this is one of Jo's all-time favourite fake tans - but be prepared to spend a bit of time rubbing it in, she counsels.
