BE A GREEN GODDESS, WITH OUR LATEST DISCOVERIES AT WWW.SOORGANIC.COM - AND ENJOY AN EXCLUSIVE 10% DISCOUNT AT THIS ONE-STOP SHOP FOR NATURAL BEAUTY, ON-LINE…

Currently, we have 627 testers (and counting), trialling natural beauty products for our next book – and many of them are from ranges stocked by So Organic: the only multi-brand beauty site in cyberspace to be Soil Association-certified. (Which is your reassurance that anything which claims it’s organic really is…) So Organic are showcasing more and more and more of our (and your) favourite truly ‘green’ brands: the site offers more than beauty (find everything from Ecover to scrummy organic cotton towels) - but what most true beauty-hounds are keen on, of course, is the selection of skincare and even make-up… Their commitment: that none of the brands on the site will feature questionable ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, propylene glycol – and no animal testing.

Better still, So Organic offers www.beautybible.com insiders an exclusive 10% discount. It’s easy - just click on any of the product mentions on this page, and when you reach the checkout use this code to obtain your 10% discount: beautybible0207. To get you started, here are our latest fave finds…

Santé Nail Varnishes
, and Nail Polish Remover. We’re regularly e-mailed by readers looking for natural nail polishes. The truth is that there’s really no such thing, but there is definitely more natural nail polish – and Santé is it. Made by a German company, the Nail Varnishes don’t contain phthalates, formaldehyde, toluene or ‘colour lakes’ (widely-used pigments that don’t break down in nature). They take a little longer to dry than some polishes, but give a pretty effect: Jo wears Shimmery Rose #1, a gorgeously pearlised ultra-pale pink, but there are other neutrals (and reds) in the range. The price? £8.50 ( £7.65, with your discount).

The Nail Polish Remover is a real breakthrough: it doesn’t have that ultra-strong
acetone-y smell, because it’s actually formulated with alcohol – and this is certified natural, by BDIH (the European body which confirms natural claims). Requires a little extra elbow grease to remove polish, but it’s so much gentler on nails that it’s worth it… The price? £6, or £5.40 with your special So Organic deal.

Headonism Organic Haircare
, £12 each (or £10.80, with your insider discount). These come in hefty (recyclable) glass bottles with lovely cork and wood stoppers - not your usual haircare packaging, but it’s not your usual shampoo and conditioner, either. Created by a hairdresser and an aromatherapist, they smell absolutely divine – and leave all hairtypes really silky and beautiful. (Jo now lugs her Headonism to the hairdresser – although lug is the word!) There’s a choice of three fragrances: Scent 1 (bergamot, frankincense, black spruce, geranium and lavender leaf), Scent 2 (ylang-ylang, patchouli, vetiver and lavender – which

manages to combine most of Jo’s favourite woody smells) and Scent 3, a zesty blend of sweet orange, grapefruit and black spruce. Headonism is earning rave reviews from beauty editors, and we’re happy to add our names to the list.

Logona Eye Makeup Remover Oil
, £8 (make that £7.20, to you). An oil, to remove eye make-up…? Yes. Works brilliantly. Used with a damp cotton pad, it’s as effective as most ‘dual-phase’ eye make-up removers (because nothing melts mascara like oil…) You only need a little. A revelation.

Trilogy. This range is new to So Organic – but not new to us: a New Zealand skincare range based around organic rosehip oil, which has a well-deserved reputation for boosting skin regeneration. We are particularly keen on Aromatic Body Oil, £15.95 (£14.35 with your discount), with its wonderful botanical fragrance, and we also like the ultra-gentle Body Cleansing Bar, £3.95 (£3.55): much kinder than soap, it’s enriched with carrot oil, aloe vera and jojoba oil, so doesn’t leave body skin dry and taut.

Laveré Hydro Sensation Energy Cream
, £23.40 (less 10%, if you take advantage of your discount). One of our favourite age-defying moisturisers: really skin-perkifying and radiance-boosting and great for sensitive skins, we find. Alternatively, you might like try the Laveré Starter Kit, for just £9.75 (or £8.77 to you), which features trial sizes or generous sachets of products like Anti-Ageing Body Control Lotion (a high-scorer with our testers) Lifting Serum, Ultimate Eye Care Anti-Ageing Eye Cream – and Hydro-Sensation, of course, so you can find out which products in this terrific range you like, before making the skin investment…

And last but not least - Ecover Squirt-Eco, £14.52 for six 500 ml. spray bottles (refills also available), or £13.06 with your So Organic/Beauty Bible discount. Now, what’s this doing on a beauty site? Well, you know how hard it is to get bath oils off the tub? This squirty bottle of Vegan Society-approved magic makes light work of that task (and just about any other bathroom or kitchen cleaning chore) when you want to cut through grease fast. Can’t live without it. (Or at least, our bathrooms and kitchens would be a lot grubbier, if we had to!)
