So when you log on, look out for the ‘Green Beauty Bible Awards’ logos, flagging up all the winning products.

And, best of all, as a Beauty Bible ‘insider’ you are entitled to a 5% discount on everything at Love Lula. Plus, if you spend over £35, there’s a fab gift waiting for you: a Trilogy Starter Kit, worth £9.95, which is a fantastic way to discover a New Zealand brand that we rate highly, featuring a cleanser, exfoliant facial scrub and moisturiser. So: for our favourite finds right now, read on…
Neal’s Yard Nourishing Melissa Hand Polish, £14 for 100 g (add the code bb10 at checkout and that brings it down to £13.30). Suddenly, it’s all about hand scrubs. A whole new beauty category – and Neal’s Yard has a contender: wet your hands and massage in this scrub for an instant, dinginess-banishing ‘hand makeover’. With sunflower oil and aloe, this Soil Association-certified organic product leaves hands supple, as well as brighter-looking. And if you do slather on hand cream afterwards, it will penetrate more easily.
Trilogy Age Proof Daily Defence Moisturiser SPF15, £27.95 for 50 ml (or £26.55 to you). The days are getting longer. (Thank heavens.) The sun is getting stronger. (Ditto.) And this is definitely the time of year to start thinking about wearing a daily sunscreen, for age-protection. The challenge for natural beauties: mineral sunscreens can be heavy, giving skin a blue-ish cast. So this lightweight formula is a blend of minerals with a photo-stable, environmentally-sound synthetic sunscreen, for wearable, sinks-in-fast daily protection. A good compromise, we feel.
Green People Pressed Mineral Foundation Powder SPF15, £19.99. Green People have moved into make-up! And – a real breakthrough - their range is organically-certified by Ecocert. In a compact you’d be happy to whip out at the dinner table, this has a flattering, light-reflecting-but-matte-at-the-same-time super-smooth finish. Not a huge choice of shades (yet) but Caramel is good for pale skins with yellow (rather than pink) undertones. Best applied with a fluffy ‘kabuki’ brush – though you’ll have to buy one separately.
Logona Wrinkle Therapy Fluid, £36.79 for 30 ml (and you get 5% discount if you add the code bb10 at checkout). What can we say? This scored an incredibly impressive 8.81/10 (averaged across 10 testers – do the math!) in the extremely tough ‘Tried & Tested Miracle Cream’ category. We’ll leave it to our testers to share their raves.
Comments: ‘Like the texture, a cross between a serum and hydrating milk; smells like fresh flowers and strawberries, sinks in quickly, leaving light film on skin; faint sun spots nearly gone and frown line too; this product marks a turning point’ • ‘a nice treat’ • ‘skin smoother, softer, more radiant and youthful: bigger wrinkles improving steadily, everyone has noticed’ • ‘I don’t normally gush, but this is a wonder product – I am truly amazed and impressed; I give ten to infinity marks – and beyond’ • ‘I’m 39 and it has wiped off 15 years – reducing redness, blemishes and fine lines’ • ‘visible difference in skin softness and smoothness as well as plumpness’ • ‘reduced crêpiness on neck’.
Vonny Bee Butter Balm, from £7.50-22.99 (take 5% off that). The simplest of skin-soothing beauty products, created by a beekeeper and complementary therapist, following biodynamic principles – containing just beeswax, propolis, olive and almond oils, plus coconut butter, aromatically scented with lavender. A genius multi-tasker.
Suki Lip Trio Compact, £24.97 (minus your discount, making it £23.72 to our ‘insiders’). A lipsmackingly gorgeous treat for lips, featuring Suki’s excellent Lip Butter to prime and soften lips, together with two wearable shades of velvety colour (think soft wine and a baby pink) that can be worn on lips or cheeks.
Weleda Pine Reviving Bath Milk, £8.95 for 200 ml (that’s £8.50 to you). Another Green Beauty Bible Award-winner, in the Reviving Bath Treat category. If you can’t shake off the winter blahs, this is wonderfully reviving – but we’ll hand over to our testers for their impressions.
Comments: ‘So pleasant: a very natural pine smell that left me relaxed and also energised; skin felt soft, too’ • ‘I love this natural wonder, which has rid me of a prejudice against (synthetic) pine baths; I felt tired, uninspired and irritable and emerged refreshed, soothed and inspired, with energy’ • ‘great for releasing you from petty stresses and strains before a night out’ • ‘looks great on the shelf’ • ‘fab pure ingredients; skin felt soft and moisturised and very dry skin on legs not as scaly as usual’ • ‘lifted my spirits and I felt re-energised.’
