At BeautyBible.com we only choose a handful of ‘approved’ websites to tell you about because they offer great service and a fantastic range. And as regular customers know, you can’t beat HQhair.com for that: they have scoured the beauty universe for literally hundreds of ‘cult’ beauty finds.
The really good news is that as a Beauty Bible ‘insider’, you are entitled to a chunky 10% discount on virtually everything at HQhair: all you need to do is add the code BBHQ10 at the checkout. You’ll find brands from Moroccanoil (the talked-about hair treatment brand, perfect for summer hair S.O.S.es), Decléor (famous for their aromatic suncare), Elemis and Chantecaille, ZPM’s fab cosmetic kit-bags, Becca make-up, Philosophy, Tweezerman – plus fabulous fragrances. (They even sell travel adaptor plus!)
Right now, the HQhair.com site has come over all summery – from waterproof mascaras to hair masks, travel hairdryers to SPFs, a selection of truly fah-bu-lous kits – so if you read on, you’ll find a shortlist of some of our seasonal fave raves. Meanwhile, for a complete list of the brands which are available at this discount, click here to be whisked to the HQhair INSIDER DISCOUNTS page on our site. Then shop at your leisure – but with that not-to-be-missed discount, every time you access HQhair.com from our site. Think of it as your passport to a stunning summer…
St. Tropez Tan Detox, £25 for 50 ml (that’s £22.50 to you, with your discount – just add the code BBHQ10). This genius product from tanning-meisters St. Tropez is actually a delectably-scented bath oil – think lavender, lemon and hazelnut oils – which comes with a gentle exfoliating cloth to buff the body. It’s great for removing self-tan ‘build-up’ (you know – knees, ankles, heels), without having to attack the body with a nail brush. (Which, we admit, was always our tan-lightening-method-of-choice up till now.) Actually, we like it as a bath oil in its own right!
Nars Summer Multiple, £27, in Lamu (take 10% off with your discount). Nars’s Multiple is a legend: a swipe-on stick of shimmering colour for eyes, cheeks, lips, shoulders – almost anywhere you fancy. We very much like this version – a glazed apricot kissed with gold sparkle – which is somehow very Summer 2010. Blended with fingers, it’s almost goof-proof.
Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50+, £25.50 for 50 ml (take £2.55 of that, with the checkout code BBHQ10). We get a lot of questions from tan-o-phones asking for recommendations for super-high SPFs. Because Alpha-H is a leading professional skincare brand in sun-drenched Australia (as well as slightly-less-hot New Zealand), they have tons of sun protection expertise, making this a good choice for anyone who’s (a) sun-sensitive, (b) thinks that pale is pretty interesting, actually, or (c) is concerned about the ageing rays of the sun. It offers broad-spectrum protection against UVA as well as UVB rays. The light, non-comedogenic formula features aloe vera and moisture-attracting honeycomb extract - but what makes it very appealing is there’s no white ‘film’ on the skin.
Philip Kingsley The Elasticizer, £25 for 150 ml (less 10% with your discount, see above). Very definitely a summer ‘classic’: a mega-moisturising hair mask with a special ingredient that helps to provide UV protection: ideal for holiday haircare but also for prolonging the life of colour treatments. What hair guru/trichologist-to-the-stars Philip Kingsley doesn’t know about shiny, healthy hair can be written on a Kirbigrip – and not for nothing is this one of his bestsellers.
Blax Snag-Free Pony Elastics, £2.65 (or just £2.38 to you). Trust us: you will never use one of those pink Royal Mail elastic bands again to tie back your hair once you’ve discovered these: there are eight to a pack (in black, brown or a rather clever clear), just 4 mm thick, and you can find them in the kit of just about every top stylist on the planet. A fab hair accessory at an already fab price (which gets even fabber when you add the code BBHQ10 at checkout).
Nails Inc. Kings of Neon collection, £22 (that’s £19.80 to you – but be quick: this is a limited edition!) Our boredom threshold for neon polishes is very, very low. And anyone who has a similarly gnat-like nail enamel attention span will share our love for these mini-polishes from Nails Inc: a rainbow of seven shades (pure white, purple, shocking pink, bright blue, grass green, yellow and tangerine), plus their strength-boosting Soho Silk base coat and ultra-glossy Caviar top coat. We predict they will soon be seen on all the fashionable toenails…
