You know we only ever set up Prize Draws for things we love ourselves. Well, this is the health and wellbeing spa we really, really want to visit – but right now, we just can’t squeeze out the time (what with all the publicity for The Green Beauty Bible, not to mention the day jobs…). Set in an old textile mill in Yorkshire on the edge of the Pennines, the state-of-the-art Titanic Spa - which has already won several awards - looks out on blue and green: water, rolling hills and trees. The building has been renovated with energy consultants with the aim of making the whole of the spa carbon neutral (something we’re passionate about).

Titanic Spa has created its own borehole 100 metres below the surface of this geologically rich terrain. This provides vast quantities of pure Yorkshire water, which is filtered and pumped back into the spa – a low cost source of water for heating, washing, drinking and swimming in the chlorine-free pool.

But energy efficiency goes hand in hand with luxury: the products offered with the wide range of beauty and health treatments include Carita, Elemis, Decléor and ghd Spa. And if you visit the website, have a look round with their Virtual Tour and you will see that the gentle, natural ambience is designed for comfort and serenity, as well as super-pampering (and we applaud the facilities for disabled people).

Writing this in the middle of a whizzy-busy day, we ache for a head massage, a foot bath with reflexology, for an aromatherapy massage in the Chakra Room, followed by a spine-tingling, crushed ice treatment… Oh, heavens: we may just have to clear our diaries fast!
