This is something very, very, VERY special. Jean Patou is one of the all-time great fragrance houses, up there with Chanel and Guerlain in the Hall of Fame. The legendary fragrances they have created include one of the most famous scents ever - Joy - which became known as ‘the most costly perfume in the world’, filled with precious jasmine and white flowers.
Jean Patou was born in Normandy, France, in 1880, and first found fame as a dressmaker and couturier. (Clients included ‘silent stars’ Mary Pickford and Louise Brooks). He was the |

creator of some of the first-ever designer fragrances: Amour-Amour (created for brunettes!) and Que Sais-je (or ‘What do I know?’, for blondes). But it was Joy that really made his name, and its huge success was followed by 1000 and Eau de Patou - all genius creations…
In order to survive and thrive in an ever-more-crowded fragrance market, the Jean Patou fragrance house was sold - but the spirit lives on, in recent creations like Sublime, Enjoy and Sira des Indes, as well as the enduringly classic Joy and 1000. Jean Patou is now part of Procter & Gamble - who make and distribute fabulous fragrance creations for names like Hugo Boss, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Rochas, Dunhill - the list goes on… And to celebrate their 15 years in fragrance, P & G commissioned the divine Coming Up Roses fragrance as a gift to friends and supporters.
Created by Jean Patou’s in-house ‘nose’ Jean-Michel Duriez, it has - as you’d imagine - Bulgarian rose at the heart, around which he’s woven ambrette oil, pure white flowers like lily and jasmine, a note of pear - and to give the fragrance its alluring depth, base notes include seductive white musk. (Jean Patou is one of the very few fragrance houses still to have their own ‘nose’, by the way.)
As we say, you can’t buy this fragrance - so it’s priceless. (Although you can find the other Jean Patou scents in perfumeries and department stores, of course.) So we are over the moon to have five of the classically-designed bottles, with their crystal faceted caps, to offer you...
