Once upon a time, there was a small blonde girl called Kirsten, who lived in Australia with her parents. Kirsten’s father was a very clever professor, who specialised in human science. He believed that the best skin treatment was pure medical grade lanolin and that’s what he put on Kirsten’s skin from the time she was little. (By the way, lanolin comes from sheep’s wool and absolutely no woolly creature is harmed in the process.)
Anyway… when Kirsten grew up, she married a Frenchman (Jean Marc Carriol) whose family was involved in the beauty business. And a few years ago, Kirsten started her own beauty brand called Lanolips, featuring products made with Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin.
We discovered the brand when it first came to the UK about two years ago and have been devotees ever since. Lanolips award-winning Lip Ointments contain over 60% lanolin, some lovely natural oils, skin-cherishing vitamin E, plus pure pigment (for the colour). They come in five colours, all gorgeous: Rose, Apples, Sunshine, Dark Honey and – our favourite, which is part of this prize – Rhubarb, a pretty fruity deep pink.
Then, just in time for the chilly months in the UK, Kirsten launched Lanolips Triple Buttermilk Body Balm, with lanolin and vitamin E, plus milk extracts (think Cleopatra, she knew a thing or three….). We stroke it on from décolletée to toes (just hear winter skins slurp it up), and can promise that your skin will be soft as silk within moments – and stay that way. Use it daily and your skin will thank you for it.
So here’s the very special prize that Kirsten is giving away to 12 Beauty Bible ‘insiders’: a full-size Lanolips Triple Buttermilk Body Balm, usual price £15.99 for 170ml, plus Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rhubarb, usually £7.99.
