Fab Find of the Week: NYITA Bath & Shower Oils
We’ll put our cards on the table, here. These are the most luxe-priced oils we’ve ever featured on Beauty Bible. But here’s the thing… they are honestly the most beautiful, too.
NYITA has been created by Rebecca Jaquest, who ambitiously set out to create ‘the purest products in the world, containing nothing but organic ingredients.’ Only… as an actress, she had no formal training in perfumery, which meant that Rebecca had to deep-dive into the world of essential oils and ingredient sourcing. And boy, did she do that.
We wonder if it isn’t perhaps the fact that Rebecca doesn’t have a formal training that makes these blends so exceptional. They don’t smell quite like anything else out there, certainly not like the aromatherapy blends we know (and of course, love) – but NYITA offers what we can only describe as a truly elevated and sublimely sensual bathing experience. (Or anointing experience, which we’ll come on to.)
‘Transporting’ is the phrase that comes to mind, with six different blends: Celestia, Du Jardin, First Light, Sunlit, Velvet Nuit and Yuzu Noir. With a high concentration of oils, these fill the whole bathroom – and the landing, come to that.
You can read in-depth about all six incredible scents, here – but we have to say, our favourites are Du Jardin, which Rebecca describes as feeling ‘like wandering through a summer’s garden from the sanctuary of your bathtub’ (and we 100% agree), and Yuzu Noir, which is zesty but also mysterious, deeply relaxing (and we love the fact that the golden yuzu it contains was chosen for its power to ‘invoke good fortune’, in Japanese culture).
They’re divine as bath oils, but can also be enjoyed as Body Oils, featuring 11 cold-pressed organic oils to nurture skin, while veiling it in fragrance. (The scents match those of the bath oils, if you want probably the most luxurious layering experience on the planet.) We find ourselves literally anointing our skin, almost saying out loud, ‘Body, you DESERVE this!’ Yup, we know that sounds OTT. But once you’ve tried it for yourself, we think you’ll get what we mean. (There is a Discovery Set for the body oils available, too, here.)
What makes NYITA even more fascinating is that Rebecca has worked on the ground with producers around the world to source directly, helping to support local communities by buying their precious oils. For now, she hand-blends and fills each and every bottle herself, like a true artisan.
