Fab Find of the Week: Lisa Eldridge at Liberty

We go back a l-o-n-g way with Lisa – longstanding Beauty Bible fans will remember that in the olden days, we featured some of her early make-up tutorials here – and we’re so not surprised that her YouTube channel, which you can find here, has 2.1 million followers! They are, quite simply, genius.

And over the past few years, Lisa has been slowly releasing her signature make-up line. It popped up a couple of times at temporary shops in Covent Garden, but we’re beyond delighted to say that there is now a permanent Lisa Eldridge counter in Liberty (fave department store EVER).

There, you can get help finding colour matches in the brilliant The Seamless Skin Foundation (and help is useful, since there are no less than 43 shades across the complexion spectrum). We were pleased also to discover Elevated Glow Highlighter, which we like to use to add just a touch of radiance to Seamless Skin, which has a very velvety, true-matte finish – gorgeous, but sometimes a little extra radiance doesn’t go amiss. Also brilliant for a subtle wash of glimmer on a brow-bone (or an unlined cheekbone).

You can discover your perfect shades in two of our most-adored lip products, Gloss Embrace (so comfy it feels like a conditioning lip oil, which is why we’ve built up a personal collection of these), and True Velvet Lip Colour – honestly, EVERYONE needs to see what these look like on, especially you think you’re not a ‘red lipstick person’ (there are 18 shades to play with, which means: something perfect for everyone). There are eye palettes, eye pencils – and the beauty world is on tenterhooks waiting for Lisa ultimately to release a mascara…!

If you’re us, you can buy yourself a make-up bag, the perfect, boxy and capacious shape and size, but not so capacious that you need to be a weightlifter to carry it, and printed with a fabulous Liberty fan print.

And we absolutely COMMAND you to try the cleansing cloths. Honestly, life-changing. Move over, muslin cloth: Luxuriously Gentle Cleansing and Exfoliating Cloths are so plush and comfortable to use, created from microfibres so that every molecule of gunk and make-up is magically, magnetically attracted to them (and one side is very slightly rougher, for exfoliation). In point of fact, we have thrown out ALL our cleansing cloths and flannels and invested in eight days’ worth of these. They’re designed to be used with her (also) brilliant Skin Enhancing Treatment Cleanser, which has a gel-oil texture that melts everything, ready to be swished away. (Alas, currently out of stock, but keep checking both Liberty’s website and Lisa’s own website, here. Can’t say we’re surprised it’s flown off the shelves, though! And meanwhile, heretical as it is to say it, the clothes do work amazingly with ANY cleanser…)

All in all, just SO many reasons to visit Lisa Eldridge’s counter in Liberty. As if we needed another excuse to visit that shop…! But it does feel like she’s found her spiritual retail home…
