Beauty Clinic: Last minute present buying ideas

LAST_MINUTE_GIFTS.jpg

Q. H-E-L-P! I need to get some Christmas presents fast and the post won’t come in time. What do you suggest for last minute gifts?

A. Vouchers are the way to go so here are some ideas. But you will have to hurry, so get those fingers tapping!

Beauty treatments: support neighbourhood salons (beauty, hair, nails etc), which have found it hard to survive this year. Much the easiest way is to ask them if they have a favourite beauty treatment and destination. Or surprise them! We gave a voucher for a mani/pedi to an older friend who turned out never to have had one and was absolutely delighted.

NB Yell.com is a useful source of local contacts; we put in Mobile Beauty Therapists near home and up popped a list of options within five and 10 miles.

Health and beauty spas. A day’s pampering at a spa is a real treat and there are some great bargains to be had online. For instance, Spabreaks.com offers an e-voucher option for gift delivery so you can receive the voucher instantly. All vouchers are valid for a year. Redletterdays.co.uk offers a range of different priced Gift Cards and promises first class delivery in time for Christmas if you order by 3pm on 21st December.

Specialist beauty & wellbeing websites. Many are offering online vouchers which will be e-whizzed through; an E-Gift Card from spacenk.com would get a lot of brownie points.

For plant lovers… Garden centres are still open and need support after being closed throughout Lockdown 1.0 (grrrr….). Depending on your level of knowledge and expertise, you could plant up a winter herb garden for a kitchen window or simply buy a beautiful rose (David Austin is our all-time favourite rose breeder).

An idea we love… get creative and hand make a voucher to gift. Specify the amount but let the recipient choose whatever she/he likes.
