Beauty Clinic: Finding a gorgeous ‘Free From’ skincare gift

Q. Can you suggest a lovely Christmas gift for my mid-20s niece who has very sensitive skin and is allergy-prone? She loves beauty products but I know a lot don't suit her.

A. Ta-dah! Yes, we certainly can. The first ever Free From Gift Awards (a spin off from the Free From Skincare Awards) has just announced its line up of winners. 

‘The aim was to celebrate the best beauty gift sets, skincare trial packs and cosmetic stocking fillers from brands who manufacture products that are ‘free from’ some of the allergens, chemicals, additives and fragrances associated with skin sensitivities, allergies, and ethical, environmental and health concerns,’ explains Alex Gazzola, Awards director. 

The winner of the Best Overall category was No Secrets Home Spa/£63. Designed by No Secrets founder Lorna Veale, the beribboned box contains a body and mind-cherishing treasure trove: a large jar of body jelly, two mini bath jellies, a soy wax votive candle with matches, plus a bunch of extra samples.

All the entries went to a handpicked team of testers with skin concerns to rate. The lucky person who trialled No Secrets Home Spa called it ‘the most glorious and luxurious invitation for self care’ adding that it’s so gorgeous she shed a tear when she opened it – from sheer delight!

The variety of entries was extraordinary, according to Alex Gazzola, ‘from pretty soap sets and magical oil duos, to eco-friendly pampering gifts and vegan make-up collections’.
